So this is it, the maiden appearance of the Copper Queens at the FIFA Womens World Cup concludes tonight in Kirikiriroa (Hamilton) as they play their last game against Costa Rica.
If there are two things that the Copper Queens will be remembered for at this tournament, first that even against tough opposition, they played their hearts out and won over the neutral fans, and secondly that they had the most outstanding support from all of us.
From the time they touched down at Auckland International Airport through to the end of each match, our support for them has been nothing short of outstanding. The players themselves have acknowledged our loud presence in the stands and continue to feel our aroha even when it's been tough going for them.
So, as the Copper Queens prepare to line up for one last time at the FMG Waikato stadium, as the Zambian National Anthem is played again on New Zealand soil, let's gather at the Helm at 4pm, march together to the stadium and make sure that the whole world knows that we are still Zambia Ku Chalo.
And when they go to board their 2pm flight tomorrow at Auckland International airport, let's see them off in true African style and remind them and the whole world that the Copper Queens may be out of the tournament, but they are certainly not down!
