I emigrated to Aotearoa back in 2007 with my family. It's been a privilege and honor to be part of a team that brings this small vibrant Zambian community together.
Since immigrating to Aotearoa in 2006, I have been actively involved in events organised by the Zambian community. Drawing from my experience serving multiple organizations I took on the role as Treasurer.
I strongly believe in the need for increased youth engagement and involvement in the community. My lifelong passion for working with and for young people has led me to take up this role.
As a beneficiary of free education from my homeland Zambia, I am deeply motivated to give back to the community by sharing the knowledge and skills that I have acquired in my professional career.
Driven by my passion for creating an interactive and coordinated Zambian community in Aotearoa, I took the initiative to ensure that ZIAA became a legally registered entity.
Due to my profession and experience serving on various committees, I understand the importance of following rules of engagement and giving my all. As an individual, I am hardworking and value teamwork.
My drive to serve the Zambian community in Aotearoa is grounded in two quotes: one from our African roots and another from an influential world leader.
Having lived in this country for 20 years, I have been an enthusiastic participant in various Zambian community activities, particularly those that take place in Christchurch.
