A National Registration Card is issued to eligible Zambian nationals aged 16 years and above. NRCs can only be applied for and obtained in Zambia, in person.
The renewal of Zambian passport is processed by the Zambian High Commission in Canberra, Australia.
The registration of newborns is compulsory by law. Zambian nationals in the diaspora are encouraged to register their newborn.​
The registration of deaths of every Zambian is compulsory by law. Zambian nationals in the diaspora are encouraged to register death of a family members.​
