2026 Executive elections

Executive Roles

Below are the roles and responsibilities for each role that is up for re-elction this year. To be eligible for nomination, you must meet the requirements stated in ZIAA constitution. That is, you must be a registered member of ZIAA. Refer to constitution for more details.

Chairperson

  • Coordinating the executive team.

  • Facilitating meetings and adhering to the set agenda.

  • Legal delegation to act on behalf of the Association and signing of official documents.

  • Representing the ZIAA to the public.

  • Securing, and maintaining sponsorships from approved individuals, groups and
    organizations.

  •  Publishing an annual report addressed to Association Members and any interested
    parties.

Treasurer

  • Managing ZIAA financial assets.

  • Preparing annual budgets.

  • Monitoring actual expenses and revenue.

  • Approving Executive budgets.

  • Keeping records of financial transactions.

Youth Representative - North and South Island

  • Representing youth from the South and South Island.

  • Providing a youth voice and youth perspective on ideas and decision-making processes
    of the Association.

  • Seeking youth engagement.

  • Coordinate youth led events

  • Manage youth social media accounts.​

Deputy Chairperson - North Island

  • Acting as representative for the Association at the North Island local level.

  • Acting on behalf of the Chairperson in their absence.

Secretary

  • Administrative manager of the Association.

  • Custodian of the Association’s Constitution.

  • Custodian of the membership register.

  • Taking and producing minutes for the Executive meetings,

  • ​Providing general support to the Chairperson and other Executive Members

Executive Committee Member - North and South Island

  • Undertaking tasks at the request of the chairperson or the Executive.

  • Liaison with the Chairperson, by ensuring all complaints and disputes are immediately investigated and responded to according to Association’s policies and procedures.

  • Providing guidance on the Association’s practices, policies and procedure (including the legal and compliance obligations of running the Association).

  • Ensuring that the Executive's work and recommendations are in keeping with the general Association’s Vision, Mission, Objectives and Goals.

  • Developing knowledge about or advancing interest of the Association’s Vision, Mission, Objectives and Goals.

Deputy Chairperson - South Island

  • Acting as representative for the Association at the South Island local level.

  • Acting on behalf of the Chairperson in their absence.

Communications Lead

  • Update and write content for the ZIAA website.

  • ​Creating content such as publications and events,

  • Managing member accounts and inquiries

  • Managing ZIAA social media accounts.
