About the event

The Copper Queens take on Japan in their opening game of the campaign at the FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton. 

But before you get to the game, immerse yourself in the FIFA fan festival, which will include Zambian Cultural celebrations and performances.

After that, free transport will take you to the stadium for the game.

Programme for the day

  • 1pm-5pm - Zorb Football, Football played in inflatable zorb style suits for an extra challenge
  • 11am-6.30pm - Hungerball, Award-winning game with six inflatable sides for extreme football fun
  • 11am - Poi Building Workshop, Craft your own poi with guidance and koorero from local iwi
  • 12.30pm - Cheerleading Performance
  • 12:45pm - Cultural Performance, Vietnamese Group
  • 1pm–2:45pm - Match Screening, USA Vs Vietnam
  • 3pm–3:30pm - Poi Waiata Workshop, Learn how to use your poi through special moves and waiata created by our local iwi
  • 3:30pm–4:30pm - Origami Workshop
  • 4.00pm - Local Band
  • 4pm–6pm - Silent Disco
  • 4pm–6pm - Taa Moko Facial Art Application, Unique taa moko / moko kauaue design crafted and applied by iwi with temporary facial paint
  • 4pm - Wai Taiko Drummers Performance
  • 4:15pm - Martial Arts Demonstration
  • 5:30pm– 6:30pm - Zambian Culture Celebration, Dress up in Zambian Colours and celebrate with us. Live performance by Diana Simumpande
  • 5pm-6:30pm Free Shuttle Buses - Catch a lift to Waikato Stadium to watch the debut match in Hamilton – Zambia v Japan
